Ricky Mann

Ricky Mann is an Associate Principal based in the RBB’s Johannesburg office. Since joining RBB, Ricky has worked on a variety of competition law matters before competition authorities in Africa, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. Ricky has also worked on a wide range of litigations across Africa including in the context of Constitutional Law disputes that require expert economic advice.

Ricky has a broad range of experience that includes providing advice in respect of horizontal and vertical mergers, alleged anti-competitive agreements, market investigations, abuse of dominance matters, as well as litigation involving Constitutional Law disputes.

Ricky has also worked on several multi-jurisdictional matters across Africa simultaneously engaging and manging processes with multiple competition authorities.

His experience covers a range of sectors, including alcoholic beverages, banking, marine transportation, steel, glass, gambling and betting, grocery retail, liquefied petroleum gas, private healthcare, pharmaceuticals, tobacco and alternative tobacco products, express parcel delivery, vehicle aftermarkets, petroleum, TV media and telecommunications.

Before joining the firm in 2018, Ricky worked as a Senior Economist in the Economic Research Bureau at the South African Competition Commission for five years. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Finances and Masters degree in Economic Science, both from the University of Witwatersrand.
