Petter Berg
Petter is a Partner at RBB Economics, based in Stockholm and primarily works across the Nordics. He has more than 20 years of experience in competition economics where he has been drafting reports and presenting results in high-stakes cases in a wide range of industries. Petter is listed as Thought Leader by Who’s Who Legal where he is described by his clients as “the shining star of competition economics” and with “laser-sharp analytical skills which he deploys in a pragmatic and effective way”.
In his role as a competition economist, Petter has more than 20 years’ experience of advising clients across a wide range of industries and presenting expert economics evidence before several competition authorities. He also regularly provides expert testimony in court and arbitration procedures.
Petter works in all aspects of competition law. He has been representing companies such as NCC and Aleris in cartel investigations and Nasdaq, Geberit, Postkodlotteriet and Euroclear in abuse of dominance investigations.
He has been assisting the parties in merger filings in a wide range of industries, primarily across the Nordics. Some of the more complex cases have been Telia/ Bonnier Broadcasting, BEWI/Jackon, Gasum/AGA, Coop/Netto, Grandvision/Smarteyes, Lantmännen/Vaasan and Arla/Svenska Bönder.
Petter has also been involved in several important damage cases in the Nordics, both competition and not competition related. He has in in these types of cases acted for companies such as Stora Enso, NCC, DRYFT, Orifarm, GothNet and Google.
Petter is also active in the field of state aid where he has assisted companies like SAS and Swedavia.
Petter has experience with sector specific regulation, primarily from electronic communication markets, healthcare and pharmaceutical markets.
Petter holds a Ph.D. in economics from Copenhagen Business School where he also taught microeconomics, econometrics and industrial organisation.
