Meryem Haraj Touzani

Meryem is a seasoned Associate Principal who brings extensive experience to RBB's London office. She joined the firm in 2016 and previously worked out of RBB's Paris office before relocating to London in 2022.

With over a decade of experience advising firms on competition economics issues, Meryem gained valuable insights into a wide range of industries and competition matters in various jurisdictions. Her expertise and fluency in both French and English have enabled her to effectively serve clients from diverse backgrounds.

Her work has included many high-profile competition law proceedings before the French Competition Authority, the European Commission, and other jurisdictions worldwide. Her extensive advisory experience spans a diverse range of competition issues, such as mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance, cartels, and follow-on damage claims, as well as loyalty-inducing rebates.

Throughout her career, Meryem has gained extensive experience in advising clients across multiple sectors, such as financial services, electricity distribution, pharmaceuticals, specialist retail, chemicals, automotive industry, media and telecommunications, and food and transportation. Her broad industry knowledge and understanding of diverse competition issues have proven invaluable in providing clients with comprehensive and tailored advice. Meryem's approach to problem-solving is thorough, insightful, and pragmatic.

Notably, Meryem has developed a deep expertise in assessing vertical concerns in merger proceedings, as well as evaluating the effect of mergers on the outcome of private bilateral negotiations.

Meryem earned a Master's degree in Economics and Statistics from ENSAE ParisTech in Paris and an MSc in Economics from the Humboldt University in Berlin.

As a Moroccan and French national, Meryem speaks fluent English, French, Arabic, and Spanish.
