Meltem Bayramli
Meltem Bayramlı is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s office in Amsterdam. She has over ten years of experience as a consultant in competition economics. She has advised clients in notable multijurisdictional merger investigations in front of the European Commission and other national authorities. She has experience in many aspects of competition law and has worked on cases across various sectors.
Since joining RBB in 2013, Meltem has advised clients on a variety of competition issues, including horizontal and vertical mergers, abuse of dominance cases, vertical agreements, market investigations and estimation of damages.
In particular, she has experience in merger investigations in front of the European Commission and other jurisdictions and has advised clients on large global transactions such as Alstom/Bombardier, Siemens/Alstom, Halliburton/Baker Hughes, and GE/Alstom. She has worked on several abuse of dominance cases and assisted in the preparation of expert reports in litigation cases.
In addition to the European Commission, she has advised clients before various competition authorities, including China, Australia, the US, South Korea, the UK, India, South Africa and Turkey.
Meltem has worked on cases across a wide range of sectors, as diverse as container shipping, power generation, oilfield services, rail transport, wind turbines, sugar production, online shopping, eyewear, and financial services, among many others.
She holds a PhD in Law and Economics from the joint doctoral programme of Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Bologna and an MSc in Economics and Business with specialisation in economics of markets, competition, and policy from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Meltem also worked as a business analyst in the banking sector. A Turkish and Dutch national, she is fluent in Turkish and English.
