
Lauren is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s Johannesburg office. She holds an MSc in Behavioural Economics from the University of Nottingham and a BSc in Computer Science and Economics, with Honours in Economics, from the University of Cape Town. She joined RBB in January 2018, after completing her Masters degree.
Since joining RBB, Lauren has worked on various competition matters including alleged anti-competitive agreements, market investigations and mergers raising horizontal, vertical and conglomerate concerns. She has advised clients across a number of jurisdictions, including South Africa, Nigeria, the UK and the EU.
Some of Lauren’s more recent work includes advising Korean Air Lines on its acquisition of Asiana Airlines before the European Commission, providing expert advice on Draslovka’s acquisition of Sasol’s sodium cyanide plant, and consulting on an alleged abuse of dominance and excessive pricing investigation by the South African Competition Commission.
Lauren’s experience encompasses a wide range of sectors, including airline services, insurance brokerage, telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, energy, financial markets and private healthcare. Among the clients she has advised are Korean Air, Sasol, Willis Towers Watson, JP Morgan, Totalgaz, Coca-Cola, British American Tobacco South Africa and MTN.
