
Ioannis Pappous is a Senior Associate at RBB Economics, based in London.
Ioannis has worked on a wide range of competition matters before the European Commission, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority and other national competition authorities. He has extensive experience in merger assessments, having worked on many investigations raising horizontal and vertical concerns.
Ioannis has worked on competition cases before the European Commission, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority and various other national competition authorities. His experience spans a range of matters, including mergers involving horizontal and vertical issues, antitrust investigations and state aid support.
He has experience in a range of sectors, including Big Tech, airlines, chemicals, sports, and energy, and has advised high-profile clients such as Apple, FIFA and Saudi Aramco.
Previously a Technical Specialist at the FCA, Ioannis has led the economic analysis in market investigations and policy development in the financial services sector.
Ioannis holds a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Industrial Economics from the University of East Anglia, as well as a BSc in Economics from the University of Athens.
A Greek national, Ioannis is fluent in Greek and English.
