Georgi Panev
Georgi Panev is a Senior Associate based in the Dutch office of RBB Economics. He has advised clients in relation to multi-jurisdictional, high-profile merger investigations raising both horizontal and non-horizontal concerns, as well as in the context of abuse of dominance cases and horizontal agreements.
Prior to joining RBB, Georgi completed a MSc in Economics and a BSc in Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Georgi is a native Bulgarian speaker and is fluent in English.
Since joining RBB, Georgi has worked on a range of competition matters before the European Commission (DG Comp), in addition to national competition authorities, including the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Georgi has primarily advised clients on complex merger investigations that have raised horizontal, vertical and conglomerate concerns with competition authorities. Separately, he has also worked on cases of alleged abuse of a dominant position and horizontal agreements, in addition to conducting market studies.
Georgi’s experience spans across a wide range of sectors, including rail transportation, water and waste management services, the pharmaceutical industry, liner shipping, travel services and manufacturing of goods. Notable clients Georgi has worked for include Alstom, ASSA ABLOY Booking and Veolia.
