Casilda Prado

Casilda is an Associate Principal based in RBB’s Madrid Office. Since joining RBB in 2015, Casilda has advised clients on wide array of matters, including mergers, competition law infringements, damages, regulation, and intellectual property. She has worked in cases before the European Commission and domestic competition authorities, including Spain, the UK, Turkey, Belgium, and South Africa. She also has significant experience providing expert testimony before national courts of justice.

Casilda has advised clients in merger cases notified to the European Commission and different national authorities. Her experience includes assisting EIF in its acquisition of Ferro in the pigments industry (Spain, UK and Portugal), Teva in its acquisition of its joint-venture business PGT (EU), and Moody’s in its acquisition of GCR Ratings (South Africa).

Casilda has worked extensively in matters relating Article 101 investigations. In Spain, her experience includes information exchanges in the tobacco industry, and horizontal cooperation agreements in the bus transport and textbook publishing industries. Casilda also advised Brussels Airlines and TAP during the European Commission’s investigation into these airlines’ codeshare agreement in the Brussels-Lisbon route, and TNT during the Turkish competition authority’s investigation of TNT’s agreements with its resellers.

Casilda’s is significantly active in the field of litigation. Her recent experience includes assisting Renault in relation to damage claims following the CNMC’s Article 101 decision in the car distribution sector. She has also been involved in other court and arbitration cases involving complex economic issues, such as abuse of dominance, intellectual property royalties, and regulated prices. Her clients in this field include Telefónica, the leading telecommunications company in Spain, ADIF, a Spanish state-owned railway infrastructure manager, and an association of radio and TV broadcasters in Spain.

Casilda holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and a Master’s in Economics from Carlos III University. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
