
Dr Bastian Haberer is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s Dusseldorf office. Since joining RBB Economics in 2021, Bastian has advised clients on a wide range of competition matters before competition authorities and courts in several jurisdictions.
Prior to joining RBB, Bastian worked as an academic researcher in the areas of data market and digital market regulation.
Bastian studied Economics up to PhD-level. A German national, Bastian is fluent in German and English.
Bastian has advised clients in a variety of high-profile competition matters including cartel cases, abuse of dominance cases, and regulation. In addition, he has also worked on market studies and evaluations.
His cases have been before competition authorities and courts on the EU level and the national level in Germany, the UK and other jurisdictions.
Bastian has experience in sectors including digital markets, financial markets, and different producer goods markets. Amongst others, he has worked with clients such as Alphabet (Google), Allianz, Euronext, and Nordzucker.
Before joining RBB Economics, Bastian worked as an academic researcher in the areas of data market and digital market regulation.
Bastian studied Economics up to PhD-level with focuses on Industrial Economics and Information Systems. He holds a Dr. rer. pol. from the University of Passau, an M.Sc. from the University of Cologne, and a B.Sc. from the University of Bonn.
A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
