Alastair Carr

Alastair Carr is an Associate Principal based in RBB’s London office, where he has worked since September 2018. He has advised clients on a wide range of competition matters before the European Commission, the Competition and Markets Authority and other authorities and courts.

Since joining RBB, Alastair has advised on a wide variety of competition cases before the European Commission, domestic competition authorities and courts including in the UK, China, India, Brazil,Turkey and Mexico.

His experience spans a wide variety of competition matters, including mergers involving both horizontal and vertical issues, abuse of dominance and anticompetitive agreements. Alastair has worked with clients such as Alstom, Alphabet (Google), Aon, Covestro, Essilor, Metso and Vodafone, amongst others.

Alastair has experience across a broad range of industrial markets, consumer goods markets and online markets including digital advertising, rolling stock, commercial insurance broking, industrial chemicals, eyewear, telecommunications, industrial machinery and fast-moving consumer goods.

He also has experience analysing local competition issues in a range of markets including health and fitness, pharmaceutical wholesale and fuel retail.

Alastair holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
