A distinguished economist with over two decades of experience in competition policy and regulation, Helder brings a wealth of expertise to the firm. Having advised a broad range of clients in both the private and public sectors, he is well-equipped to provide invaluable insights into complex competition and antitrust matters.
Helder joins RBB from Compass Lexecon, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of their Lisbon office. His extensive experience spans advising clients across Portugal, Brazil, and Europe on a variety of high-profile cases, including merger assessments, the economics of Article 101 and Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), as well as a strong track record in competition litigation, including authority appeals, standalone claims, and follow-on damages actions (including class actions). Additionally, Helder has provided expert testimony before multiple competition authorities, and has also substantial testifying experience (including in damages litigation) before the Competition, Regulation, and Supervision Court in Portugal.
