On 4 June 2024, the European Commission unconditionally cleared Nexans’ acquisition of La Triveneta Cavi following a Phase I investigation. With both Parties active in the supply of medium- and low-voltage cables, this acquisition bolsters Nexans’ strategy to become an electrification pure player.
During the pre-notification and Phase I investigation, RBB provided an economic assessment of the geographic market and horizontal effects showing that the Parties will continue to face strong competitive constraints from a large number of suppliers post-merger.
