DCC’s acquisition of Progas unconditionally cleared in Phase I

On 22 February 2024, the European Commission unconditionally cleared DCC’s acquisition of Progas following a Phase I investigation.

The Parties’ activities overlap with respect to the supply of LPG in Germany, specifically, in the supply of (i) LPG in bulk, (ii) automotive LPG, (iii) LPG in cylinders, and (iv) LPG as aerosol propellant. During the Commission’s investigation, RBB provided assessments at the regional and national level, which showed (a) market shares will remain moderate, and (b) Parties will continue to face constraints from strong competitors. We were hence able to show that the merger will not significantly impede effective competition on either market in Germany.
