Laure SchulzPartner have written an article discussing the revised EC Guidelines on Market Definition which has been published in the the May edition of Revue Lamy de la concurrence.
As explained in the article, the revised Guidelines are a welcome effort to synthesise over 25 years of case law. The article also stresses that while the framework for product market definition is consistent with economic theory, that geographic market definition may be too focused on ill-grounded notions such as homogeneous conditions of competition.
