On 14 March 2012 the UK Competition Commission cleared the airline catering joint venture between LSG Lufthansa and Alpha Flightgroup without conditions, following an in-depth investigation – see http://www.competition-commission.org.uk/media-centre/latest-news/2012/Mar/cc-clears-in-flight-catering-joint-venture. The CC investigation dismissed concerns that a reduction in the number of major players in this market would lead to an SLC after examining the evidence on airline buyer power, ease of entry and the influence of recent changes in the ways in which airline catering requirements are fulfilled. RBB acted for the parties throughout the CC investigation, working with Freshfields.
