Richard Murgatroyd will speak at the 2nd Annual GCR Live Cape Town Conference as part of the panel discussing market investigations. The two-day event, which takes place on 16th-17th February at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront in Cape Town, will also feature a keynote address from David Lewis, former Chairman of the South Africa Competition Tribunal, and will bring together leading practitioners and corporate counsel to discuss the latest national and regional developments.Richard’s participation in this event follows an article written by Patrick Smith discussing the economic analysis of public interest factors in the GCR’s African & Middle Eastern Antitrust Review, 2015. Several high profile cases have illustrated the potential for competition decisions, and in particular merger inquiries, to be significantly affected by public interest issues.
